Pastor Todd

I had a meeting this past week with the pastor of the World Impact Church in Watts. The church is called Powerhouse Watts Church and the pastor's name is Pastor Todd. The meeting was in regards to the possibility of the youth at our church joining his youth on Fridays for bible study. I was not sure how the meeting would go, or how receptive he would be to the idea of getting more youth. However, Pastor Todd was completely open to the idea of networking with my church and welcomed our youth to his bible study. I felt so encouraged to meet a fellow brother who was so passionate about the community of Watts and who cared so deeply for the people he served. It is so great to know that I will have support like that when Joanna and I move to Watts this summer. I could really see myself becoming involved with his church on some level and I will definitely pray about that. I do not know whether or not my church will be receptive to joining with Pastor Todd's youth group, but I know that the meeting I had was anointed and that God will do something.

Speaking of God doing something, this week I was reminded of a prophetic word given to me by one of my friend's mom. She told me that great things are going to happen with my ministry but that nothing will happen the way that I plan. I am becoming increasingly aware that this will be the case. The only thing I am sure of right now is that I am called to move to Watts. I have no clue what that will entail but I know that God will show me. I know that God knows the desires of my heart even more deeply then I know them (something so profound to me). I see Him moving in my life but it's kind of hard to articulate exactly how. I just feel Him changing things in my life (activities, friends, etc) to better match the desires of my heart. I anticipate with excitement what he will do this semester with student teaching, looking for a house in Watts, getting involved in new groups and activities!!! Praise the HOLY name of Jesus!

Homemade Vanilla Latte

Today my mother and I went on a quest to design the perfect homemade vanilla latte. We didn't have any fancy equipment like an espresso machine or a foaming wand (whatever that is). If we could make this, so can you...ENJOY!!!

Vanilla Latte Recipe

INGREDIENTS

Vanilla Syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Coffee
2 heaping tbs coffee
16oz water

Milk
1 1/4 cup milk

WHAT TO DO...

Coffee
Double brew coffee with the water (this means once you brew the coffee for the first time, pour that coffee where the water usually goes and run the coffee maker again).

Vanilla Syrup
Pour sugar and water into a pot and turn stove on high. Stir mixture until water starts to boil and is clear. Once water is boiling, take pot off heat and add vanilla extract. Let sit while foaming the milk. (it is important that you let the vanilla syrup sit because you need to have the alcohol evaporate)

Milk
Pour milk into large bowl. Microwave milk until hot but not boiling (abt 1 min). With a mixer, mix milk for aprox. 1 min until there is a substantial amount of foam on top.

Measure 3/4 cup of coffee. Split this coffee into two coffee mugs. Put 1 1/2 tbs of the vanilla syrup in each mug and stir. Distribute evenly the milk, leaving the foam in the bowl. Lastly, spoon foam on top of each mug.

Revival Song by Sarah Hill (copyright 2010)

I hope you are encouraged by this song I just wrote (and recorded on my mom's iphone haha). Be praying for revival because God will do something great for His glory. I want to see people come to know Him like crazy! Anyways be blessed!

Mime Ministry

These two Mime Ministers really blessed me the other day, when I was totally discouraged and feeling down. Come lay down the burdens you have carried, for in this sanctuary GOD is here!

BE BLESSED :)

White Priviledge

White Privilege

By Sarah Hill

Do you even want to know

What is beneath

This false exterior,

Just out of reach

Of your privilege

And born success?

Do you care

To see the world

In all its emptiness?

Reach Reach

Into the land

Of oppression and lies.

Try to stand

In the mud

And walk as fast as the man

On cement.

It’s not fair.

Welcome to the real world!

Do you even want to know

What it’s like

To be told you’re nothing

And expected to fly?

To be fed only dust

And expected to grow?

To sit in defeat;

You don’t even know

What it’s like.

Reach Reach

Into the land

Of oppression and lies.

Try to stand

In the mud

And walk as fast as the man

On cement.

It’s not fair

Welcome to the real world!

Open your eyes!

Or are you afraid

Of what you might see?

Of what you might hear?

Of what you might feel?

Are you afraid that you might digress?

“No, it’s not fair”

And see the emptiness.

You don't even know

What it's like.

I won't ever know

What it's like!
