I had a meeting this past week with the pastor of the World Impact Church in Watts. The church is called Powerhouse Watts Church and the pastor's name is Pastor Todd. The meeting was in regards to the possibility of the youth at our church joining his youth on Fridays for bible study. I was not sure how the meeting would go, or how receptive he would be to the idea of getting more youth. However, Pastor Todd was completely open to the idea of networking with my church and welcomed our youth to his bible study. I felt so encouraged to meet a fellow brother who was so passionate about the community of Watts and who cared so deeply for the people he served. It is so great to know that I will have support like that when Joanna and I move to Watts this summer. I could really see myself becoming involved with his church on some level and I will definitely pray about that. I do not know whether or not my church will be receptive to joining with Pastor Todd's youth group, but I know that the meeting I had was anointed and that God will do something.
Speaking of God doing something, this week I was reminded of a prophetic word given to me by one of my friend's mom. She told me that great things are going to happen with my ministry but that nothing will happen the way that I plan. I am becoming increasingly aware that this will be the case. The only thing I am sure of right now is that I am called to move to Watts. I have no clue what that will entail but I know that God will show me. I know that God knows the desires of my heart even more deeply then I know them (something so profound to me). I see Him moving in my life but it's kind of hard to articulate exactly how. I just feel Him changing things in my life (activities, friends, etc) to better match the desires of my heart. I anticipate with excitement what he will do this semester with student teaching, looking for a house in Watts, getting involved in new groups and activities!!! Praise the HOLY name of Jesus!
